the future is today

Everyone asks himself the question in his lifetime…

How do I become successful?

Not only individuals, but also companies, organizations and even countries wonder how they can become successful. It’s all about success, at business lunches with colleagues, in politics, at parents’ evenings, at sports or in business. Studies indicate that a large part of our thinking as adults revolves around the question of success.

Success is the goal of this way of thinking, and that is what we base our actions on, no matter whether as an individual or as a company. But do we really look at the results? Our actions shape the world in which we live. We have social achievements, technology, great opportunities, perhaps even financial prosperity.

At the same time, however, our world is also characterized by rising depression rates, the unpredictable destruction of nature, social divisions, overcrowded markets and an increasingly frequent question of purpose. Our current notion of success has also created a situation full of contradictions. It often seems impossible to be financially successful while remaining true to one’s inner convictions. As we follow the news, employer and employee interests seem to be diametrically opposed. Sustainability is good for everyone, but unfortunately it is often too expensive and therefore uneconomical.

We find ourselves in a situation that few really want and of which we are all a part. But what is the alternative?

Jeder stellt sich im Leben einmal die Frage…

Wie werde ich erfolgreich?

Not only individuals, but also companies, organizations and even entire countries wonder how they can become successful. It’s all about success, at business lunches with colleagues, in politics, at parents’ evenings, at sports or in business. Success – the future is today

The Film

The film Success is a visual journey around the world. Starting from the search for a success story for the future, we meet visionary experts and get to know pioneering places, companies and organizations where things are already thought differently today and above all done differently.

Success unites people from completely different backgrounds, but they are all part of a living future. Through the various stages of our journey, it becomes increasingly clear that our current understanding of success has definitely an alternative. We ask ourselves: If we assume that our notion of success is deeply rooted in our world view, how do we ultimately see the world and ourselves?

We meet people who understand themselves, the world and life differently and act accordingly. This change of perspective has given rise to approaches and approaches that were previously unthinkable: Entrepreneurs develop lively corporate cultures that are primarily concerned with the well-being of their employees. This is precisely why revenues are increasing rapidly. Ingenious, efficient and completely sustainable production processes are copied from nature, which change the future of the economy permanently. People find their way back from resources to their potentials through their naturalness.

Especially in times in which questions are often asked about the future of the economy, work, career as well as the future of technology and society, these pioneers clearly show that success is already different today. They find solutions that can both solve many of our pressing ecological and human problems and are economically successful at the same time. The approaches are mostly natural, surprising, ingenious and  lively, yet they are accessible to everyone and easy to understand. Above all, we are offered a positive perspective that inspires and motivates us to act.

The Experts

The experts in our film have different backgrounds and expertise: work, companies, economics, learning, knowledge, values, sustainability, meaning, enthusiasm, happiness and ecology. Our experts are all visionaries with a strong sense of implementation who show us how the entrepreneurial, social and global concept of success is changing. They are our mentors who invite us to change our perspective, which always begins with the individual and needs an important basic ingredient: Inspiration.

The Companies

The companies of the film are all different in their ways. What unites them, however, is that they have all found their own access to a new understanding of success. Some cultivate vibrant corporate cultures and evolve in terms of human sustainability, others have exciting approaches to production or product development and thus ecological sustainability. Value orientation is not only claimed, but also lived and that attracts like-minded employees. Supposedly encrusted contradictions are resolved and perspectives are re-integrated. This is not an entrepreneurial luxury, but an unavoidable development.

Biomimicry 3.8 is the first consulting company in the world that has started to advise companies according to the principle of biomimicry. They assume that all questions concerning design, organization, processes, materials etc. have already been solved by nature in a sustainable, efficient and ingenious way. So the question is always: “How would nature solve the problem at hand?

The North German hotel chain Upstalsboom has managed to establish an employee-centred corporate culture. Bodo Janssen initiated this change after a catastrophic employee survey and since then the revenues of the company have risen rapidly.

The American world market leader in carpet systems is one of the first large corporations in the world to be completely CO2 neutral. They have developed an ingenious product system that is no longer based on selling carpets, but on leasing them out. Your goal is to be CO2 negative in the future.

Sparda Bank Munich is a positive example from an industry of which many do not have a favourable picture: the financial sector. With its CEO Helmut Lind, the Bavarian bank has managed to implement a real change towards a public welfare economy. This involves a truly holistic understanding of what success means for a company.

The small Tyrolean company has found a way to mechanically construct wooden houses in such a way that they do not require any heating or cooling of any kind. This is an ingenious way in times where we are constantly talking about energy, environment and climate protection.

The Berlin-based food supplement company has decided to revolutionize its own corporate culture. After offering high quality products at affordable prices, one of their employees decided to focus on human sustainability. The film Success accompanies this process with all its challenges.

Kinezuka is a company that started 40 years ago to produce high quality tea according to ecological principles. It is not just a matter of not using pesticides or the like, but of developing a natural and at the same time highly modern cultivation system closely linked to the landscape and cultural traditions.

The Kogi

The Kogi are probably the last large remaining indigenous civilization of the American continent. Unlike the Mayas, Aztecs or Incas, the Kogi were able to preserve almost all of their cultural identity due to the special geography of their homeland in northern Colombia. The steep mountain slopes of the mountains, overgrown with inaccessible jungle, have created a “mentality vault” in which ancient knowledge and a completely different understanding of the world have been preserved.

The Kogi show us that the vast majority of what we currently perceive as new, what is considered the absolute avant-garde of social organization and sustainability, is actually a homecoming to ancient principles of humanity.
